Amber Lewis joined the Iowa Finance Authority in 2010. She manages the agency’s homeless assistance programs, which includes federal and state grant programs such as the Emergency Solutions Grant, Shelter Assistance Fund, Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS, and Continuum of Care Program. It also includes providing staff oversight to the Iowa Council on Homelessness, a statewide advisory board of 38 governor-appointed volunteer members. 
Prior to joining the Iowa Finance Authority, she worked for Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School, a nonprofit college-preparatory school in Washington, DC. There, she was the Grants and Communications Manager and prior to that, an English/Language Arts Teacher. 
Amber earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Washington, a Masters in Teaching from Western Washington University, and is a Certified Public Manager.
